さくらの家の裏に、大きな桜の木があります。
８月末の事でした、朝、玄関の掃除をしていて１匹の毛虫を見つけました。
この時期に毛虫と思いながら、昨年刺されて大変な思いをしたことが脳裏に浮かびます。
翌日の夕方でした、なんと木の下にそれこそ団子状態になりうじゃうじゃとうごめいています。
赤・白・黒が重なり合ってぞっとする情景を目にしました。
どうしてよいのか．．．とりあえず役場に連絡を．．．
夏休みの学童も通るので教育委員会にも連絡を．．．
上を見上げると木の葉っぱは全部食べ尽くされ、えさとなる葉っぱが無くなったっていまいた。
そのうち、えさを求めての大移動が始まり幹を降りて、道路や建物の壁をうごうごと移動しています。
その数たるや．．．．．．
う～気持ち悪い(>_<)
メンバーが２人でスプレー片手に退治するが追いつきません。
ついにさくらの家に続く倉庫の壁・横のブロック塀に行列を作り、突撃が始まりました。
このままでは大変なことになるぞ。
幸い田んぼのカメムシ退治に使った農薬があったので試してみようとしたのですが、皮肉なことに雨が降ってきました。
それでも家の周りと木と花壇の周辺にまいてみようと、とうちゃんとママは脇目もふらず散布しました。
気づくと父ちゃんは素手でやっています。必死です。
次の日でした。効果があったのか、しっかりと薬が効いてほとんど死んでいました。
ほっとしたもののそれ以外の毛虫はどこに行ったのかと疑問です。
というのもいっさい姿が見あたりません。
森林組合の方が４年位前の話として教えてくれたのは福井小学校にも大量発生したということでした。
幸いにも今回メンバー、スタッフとも刺される事無く、被害を被らなくて本当に良かったと思います。
